More Mobile Phone Pouches

I've been having fun sewing these cell phone pouches in the past few days.

I love gifting mobile phone pouch for my friends. Everyone need one, after all your phone is your best buddy :D

Beige Blockprint & Linen

Like this Halloween theme one. I love this riley blake fabric I picked up on my last trip.

or this Indigo and Red. Oh I love indigo blue, who doesn't? and with indigo blue you can match it with almost all colors. Pink, green, red, name it and it always looks great.

Indigo Red Pouch

This handmade phone pouch may look similar, but they are different. Like this Japanese doll one. It looks cute with red , green or pink.

{ Show off Saturday} Imperfection

I had so much fun doing this scrappy log cabin blocks.
I just grabbed one piece at a time and started QAYG it.

I didn't even bother to see if the color match.

I added black sashing to bring out brightness of Indian cotton fabrics.

Don't you love all those brightly contrast colors?

Here, I learned the beauty of imperfection.

couldn't agree more, Marilyn ^_^

Show Off Saturday : Little Pouches and Recycle boxes

I have finished these few things after I came back from the holiday.  I bought quilted purse pattern from etsy and love it.

This is for my SIL

and I keep this for my self ^^

And I was in a recycling mood, so covered these mug boxes with fabrics and reuse the panda plastic bottle which we got from Singapore Zoo to keep my wooden buttons.

I used the boxes to keep my binding strips.

I especially like the pin cushion. I got the idea from pinterest about re using the cello tape tube as pin cushion

Isn't that cute?

It's better be late than never

When my bff was having her first baby I told her that I'll make a baby quilt for her. Well, finally I did it...2.5 years later @_@

Here it is :

Pardon the graffiti on the swing..
that was the sons doing when they were on crafty mood.

Actually I planned a different quilt and then decided to change it midway using completely different fabrics. This one sort of grow from 40" x 40" to 48" x 60" which is - I think - its great for 2 years old.

I used this soft minty green fabric at the back. One of the reason why it took so long  was looking for the perfect backing. So, it was after my Shillong visit last April that I got this fabric. See, I truly believed that everything happens at its own time and place ;)

I decided to do straight line quilting using mercerised variegated cotton but it kept breaking. It turned out the thread was old (2009 made) which I didn't check. Lesson learnt.  So, after struggling for few lines I decided to change the thread. Too bad, cos I love the color so much. Well, its not meant to be.

Another thing was I NEED walking foot. I'm not (yet) comfortable with FMQ -ing big quilt and I love straight line quilting after browsing Pinterest. There's just so much you can do with straight line quilting. HERE is one that I love. And to do that I need the right tool. I'll be getting one soon, thanks to my dear friend who will get it for me ...yay!!

It's packed and ready to send by Monday.
Until then

Happy Quilting
