Disney Mickey Mouse Family Passport Holder

Hello,

This week I’ve completed my last Etsy orders. Apparently, the Mickey Mouse Disney Passport holder is very popular in my Shop that I have to re-order the fabrics. And I love working with fun fabrics.

In this post, I was talking about batching and it helped me a lot this month. Managing shops and home single-handedly is not an easy task. I mostly spend half of my morning replying to emails and messages, before doing my daily chores. Since I already cut a batch of interfacings for Passport Holders and Mini Crossbody Bag, the sewing part is easy. While I love cutting fabrics, cutting interfacing bored me.

OK, back to the passport holder, I made 2 variations and the buyer chose one which has card slots and interior zipper.

I still have a couple of local orders to finish now, and I won’t be accepting custom orders until I come back from Indonesia next August.
I have a couple for Ready to Ship items in my ETSY shop and Website (scroll down to buy).  And if you'd like to try to make passport holder for your next family holiday, you can get the pattern on Etsy & Craftsy

Solo Travel Passport Cover

Hello,
I've been working on new  products for the shop for sometimes now.  I'm happy that since it's first released a couple of years back, my Family Passport holder is remain the most popular one in my shops, both Etsy and locally.

The recent trend of solo travel prompts me to create this small passport cover.

It's similar to any other passport cover out there, the only special is I added mini zipper pocket at the back.

Passport Cover with Mini Zip Pocket

I realized during my solo travel early this year that I do NEED this small passport holder. I'm using the Single Passport Holder Card Organizer from my shop and it worked great during my solo traveling. I can keep all my hotel bookings, forwarding boarding passes, tickets, travel insurance paper, frequent flyers card and foreign currencies all in one organizer.

However, when I reached my destination, I only need to carry my passport while I'm exploring the city. I need something small, but secure that I can tuck in inside my sling bag. The big passport organizer can be kept in the safety box at the hotel.

Currently I'm listing these 2 passport covers. More will be added as soon as I finished my custom orders :D.

Session Break

The kids report giving day was done. Now both are in 7th and 5th grade respectively. yay!!

the boys in our vegetable garden
Nowadays the competition is very tough. I always told my friends in Indonesia, that here in India, the parents are so concerned with the children study, in this case, how much mark they bring home after every test. Be it weekly, quarterly or semester. Most children will go for extra tuition. I keep telling my boys, that I don't expect them to bring straight "A" always, for me it's more important for them to understand what they learned in school.

Well, I must admit I also give my sons extra tuition for Maths and Hindi. For obvious reason because I don't speak or write Hindi and for maths, well because when I tried to explain they get more confuse. ha!! I always told my boys, I studied maths in Bahasa Indonesia so I am not familiar with mathematical terms in English...I know its lame haha I love maths only when I have to calculate my quilt blocks :P

one of my WIP...too many of them :(

So, how they spend their session break holidays?

They  had a play date
Rudraneel, Rizqi, Raihan & Agnibha

and had a fun time playing cricket to their heart's content

And one day we had a pizza day.

when the pizza took too long to arrive, we do selfie/wefies

Raihan - who never sit still - sniffing the pepper bottle and could not stop sneezing   >-(

No pizza photos, we were too hungry to take a snap :P

The boys already plan for movie date next week.

Until then....

Have fun!!

Hello 2015 !

My first post in 2015!
So, here what I've been up to in the last week of 2014

Yes, we went to one of the himalayan state of Himachal Pradesh ^_^

the silhouette of mountains and hills all the way

it was almost 10 hrs drive from Delhi

but all the tiredness was gone
when you see this view from your hotel window

The next day was fun ride to Kufri
the boys wanted to play with the snow ^_^

well, I guess I am lucky not to stay in the snowing state in India (or anywhere in the world for that matter )
I prefer summer anyday

while the boys were trying out the gokart , I was enjoying the sun while looking at the snow capped himalayan range. Subhanallaah.

oh we bought this sweet potatoes from roadside vendors

We stayed for 2 nights in Shimla
It was a fun experience
To see the hill filled with houses
the winding road
experiencing the public elevator
browsing the mall road

We should've stayed longer
well, maybe later
and preferably not in winter ^_^

Until then,

Hope 2015 will bring you more fun filled experience

The Bali Story

Hey hey…I’m back..yes, I’m back from holidays visiting my home country, the beautiful Indonesia.  It was as always a hectic one. We went to Bali to enjoy the sun and the beaches. We had a great time. The kids enjoyed the beach so much they came out tan as ever.

Kuta Beach during the day. Enjoyed splashing in the water and watching people surf .

Kuta Beach during the sunset

A Massage lady in the Kuta Beach. She's been doing this job for the last 40 years!!

When you go to Bali, you should do this cruise. We went for a cruise with the Balihai Cruise. We were taken to this beautiful island of Lembongan by a medium size ship. It was rather overwhelming cos the high tide. It was a great fun though the schedule/program was a bit hectic. There are lots of activities to choose. From banana boat to snorkeling. We went for the snorkeling too.  Well, I tried 2 dips in the ocean but I was too scared to go further. I guess, I really need to do something for my fear of water.

Oh we went to see the coral in this semi submarine boat. It was nice experience esp. for the boys.

Next we went to Nusa Dua beach and the turtle island. The turtle island is about 15 min boat ride.

look at that cute turtle. The boys were so excited to be able to catch them.

Parasailing at Nusa Dua Beach

We had seafood dinner in Jimbaran, which is awesome. Great food great ambiance.

Here, you gotta choose what seafood you want and what preparation you'd like to have.

We spent the whole week in Bali. We stayed in a serviced appartment, which is nice and cozy, nestled in the middle of Kuta’s hundred of tiny alleys. Well, there are star hotels too, but with the kids we always more comfortable in serviced appartment which is more homey and spacious than a hotel room. Especially now that they are getting bigger.

 The Apt-Hotel:  Kuta Town Houses

We spent the rest 3 weeks in my hometown, Malang..and that'll be another story :)

Until then...

Happy Crafting ^_^
